I come to you imperfectly these scars bear testament to my history but it doesn't mean less just cause you aren't the first love grows wiser the more that it's rehearsed the fantasy's gone leaving only a man so fragile so frightened with his heart in his hands to old to pretend that love holds no risks our eyes open to the consequences But I wouldn't trade what we've got for any high school fairy tale no Hollywood happy ending would ever be enough for me.

Wild Things 02:35
You built a hearth around my heart tended the flames to keep me warm against the coldest winter wind against the coldest winter wind but even the smallest spark dreams of the inferno tough you might contain it you know that you can't change it you built a place where I can stay and watch the passage of the days a haven where I feel safe a haven where I feel safe but often the citadel turns into a holding cell when it's time to let me go will you know It's not that I don't care for you or appreciate the things you do but Wild things belong to the the wild

Diamonds 03:00
They say love conquers all well I don't want to be conquered anymore I'm dropping out of the war my white flag flying all those years I believed that being wanted by somebody would finally make me feel worthy but I have always been just as I am I don't, need diamonds to sparkle they can't outshine the stars in my eyes and all the red roses in the world wouldn't be as sweet as being free from you All those books that I read and hoped they'd fix some mortal flaw that made me so un-loveable to all the boys since highschool all the times that I tried to fit myself into a mold thinking it made me beautiful but I have always been just as I am I don't need diamonds to sparkle they can't outshine the stars in my eyes and all the red roses in the world wouldn't be as sweet as being free from you For better or worse in sickness and health in poverty or wealth I can only be myself so take me as I am or never come again never come round here again I don't need your diamonds to sparkle they can't outshine the stars in my eyes and all the red roses in the world wouldn't be as sweet as being free I don't need diamonds to sparkle they can't outshine the stars in my eyes and all the red roses in the world wouldn't be as sweet as being free from you.

The Storm 03:02
These bald tires they don't grip like they're supposed to so many miles have word down the tread and I thought distance might teach me not to miss you but it's worn my resolve down instead now lightning flashes in the distance and I race it towards my empty bed I'm not sure if I'm trying to beat the storm or the loneliness in my head This old car she's starting to sputter she's seen better days I guess we both have when I didn't fear the rumble of thunder so sure I could stay my path but now these clouds are rolling in and I'm pushing faster than I should I'm not sure if I'm trying to beat the storm or what I'd do over if I could The first drops they're starting to spatter before the wipers dash them awau there's a soft his as the sky splits and I pull into your drive way and for a moment I just stand there let this cold water wash me clean I'm not sure if I beat the storm but I can't run from what you mean to me

The Last Man 03:26

about

This album is kind of like a hand made valentine, and not one of those magical pinterest home made valentines. The old fashioned red paper heart with a doily and some thoughtfully written words kind of hand made valentine. I wanted to start my 2014 out getting acquainted with my recording equipment (for reasons which will be revealed later) and by giving more music to those of you who have been waiting patiently for something new for YEARS. So here it is, entirely self produced, imperfect but earnest and all for you.
